 Application Rules

I. Eligibility: Applicants must first apply for subsidies from off-campus institutions before applying for partial subsidies from the Office of Research and Development.

II. Scale: International or Domestic

International: Refers to conferences at which academics presenting or critiquing papers are from three or more different countries (as determined by the country of full-time employment); events must involve academics from two or more countries other than Taiwan, China and Hong Kong and Macau.

III. Rules: Departments are required to apply for subsidies, prior to the hosting of conferences, by submitting application documents to the Office of Research and Development. Application requirements are as follows:

1. Calls for papers or invitations for paper presentation.

2. Participation should be open, national and international.

3. Applications are accepted on a rolling basis and batch reviewed. The Review Committee meets in March, June, September, and December of each year. Application deadlines are specified in official announcements.

IV. Other: Applications are required to use the NCCU Meetings System to register relevant conference information.

Results Presentations and Methodology Conferences

Application Rules

I. Eligibility: Applicants may apply directly to the Office of Research and Development for subsidies.

II. Scale: International or Domestic

International: Refers to conferences at which academics presenting or critiquing papers are from three or more different countries (as determined by the country of full-time employment); events must involve academics from two or more countries   other than Taiwan, China and Hong Kong and Macau.

III. Rules: Departments are required to apply for subsidies, prior to the hosting of conferences, by submitting application documents to the Office of Research and Development. Application requirements are as follows:

1. Calls for papers or invitations for paper presentation.

2. Participation should be open, national and international.

IV. Other:

·         Applicants are required to use the NCCU Meetings System to register relevant conference information.

·         Conferences with a duration of one day or more shall by attended by 50 or more participants.

Project Closure (please refer to the official letter of approval)

1. Recipients of conference subsidies shall complete the following procedures within one month following the end of the conference: Expenses shall be reimbursed in accordance with the applicable accounting rules.

2. Progress reports must be uploaded electronically (download the Progress Report on Academic Subsidies template from the ORD website).

3. Where conference proceedings are published, two paper copies of the conference proceedings, copyright permission letters (download templates at Library/Services/Forms/Letters of Authorization) signed by the respective authors (including NCCU and off-campus authors and co-authors), abstracts in Word Format, and full-text printable PDF copies of the papers (one file per paper) must be submitted to the Library to be included in the collections.*To ensure all copyright permission letters are collected from authors as required, conference organizing units are advised to collect copyright permission letters and electronic versions of the papers from authors (NCCU and off-campus) included in the proceedings at the beginning of each conference!

 

ISBN/CIP/GPN shall be obtained in advance for any conference proceedings to be published. 10 copies are to be given for free to the library to be exchanged for government publications.
