History of the Office

In response to the changing trends in both domestic and international academic research environments, and to establish clear policies and guidelines for the university’s academic research development, the university restructured its Academic Research and Collaboration Committee into the Research and Development Office in. This office is responsible for overseeing and managing the university's academic research development efforts, with the aim of stimulating internal research capabilities, promoting academic progress, enhancing organizational efficiency, and achieving the goal of increasing the university’s international competitiveness.

Mission and Objectives

Rooted in the spirit of the humanities, the Research and Development Office is dedicated to integrating and innovating the humanities and technology. We strive to enhance the quality of basic and applied research across the university, focusing on addressing societal needs. Additionally, we support academic research units in aligning their research topics with future developments. Through cross-disciplinary, inter-university, and international research collaborations, we aim to strengthen global connections and enhance the academic standing and international reputation of National Chengchi University.

Organization

Academic Development Section

  1. Overall management of research projects funded by MOST and other agencies
  2. Assistance for faculty in executing research projects
  3. Services for project application, contract signing, payment requests, modifications, extensions, and final report submission
  4. Encouragement of faculty and students to engage in academic research to enhance research capacity
  5. Establishment of academic research funding regulations to facilitate access to resources necessary for conducting research activities

Planning Section

  1. Act as a catalyst in assisting the university to shape important research policies and development plans
  2. Conduct preliminary planning for special research projects
  3. Assist faculty and researchers in actively pursuing integrated research projects
  4. Foster an academic research culture and secure more research resources

Academic Evaluation Section

  1. Coordinate university accreditation, departmental evaluations, academic research incentives, and faculty performance assessment policies
  2. Conduct self-evaluations and on-site reviews by external scholars
  3. Assess the current status of university operations and academic research
  4. Assist in establishing quality assurance mechanisms to enhance research quality and expand social impact

Research Ethics

  1. Establish the university's research ethics governance framework
  2. Assist in planning and implementing ethics committee operations and related regulations
  3. Support ethical review and subsequent management of research projects
  4. Integrate research ethics data to provide policy recommendations
  5. Offer research ethics consultation services
  6. Provide research ethics education and training
